Set in a tiny sewing factory in East Los Angeles, this dramatic comedy—told from the perspective of Ana, the youngest employee—revolves around family values, gender politics, and the Latina identity. Over the course of five hot summer days, Ana and the other female laborers discuss the pressure to conform to stereotypical body images, dumb down their intellect, and relinquish their ambitious dreams.
