Edible Book Contest Takes the Cake

At this book-themed cake contest hosted by Johnson & Wales University, you can be the judge. Students from chef Emmerich Zach’s specialty cake class will compete to create the most convincing dessert representations of categories such as the best graphic novel and best non-cake. After voting on you favorites, taste some sweet treats yourself at a reception with complimentary coffee and cake. Wed 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Colorado Agriculture Day

Local cooks won't get to to meet Gordon Ramsay during this culinary showdown, but they will get a chance to serve Governor John Hickenlooper. Under the Capitol's golden dome, restaurateurs will team up with farmers and state legislators for a food competition featuring Colorado-grown produce. As you savor the fruits of their labor at a tasty lunch, raise a toast to the producers and businesses that feed the state. Wed 10:45 a.m.

Breck Pride Week

Grab your skis and head to one of Colorado’s favorite mountain towns for Breck Pride, five days of events celebrating the LGBTQ community and diversity in all its forms. Highlights include a colorful Pride Festival parade on Friday, a costumed color run on Saturday, and a hilarious performance by singer and comedienne Sandra Bernhard on Saturday night.
