The Sun, the Moon, and Us: A Guide to the Great American Eclipse of 2017


The next total solar eclipse is a year away, but since a similar event hasn’t happened since 1979, you should start planning your watch party now. Scott McIntosh, a scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, will help you prespare at this fascinating presentation, during which he’ll discuss this rare interaction between celestial bodies and give you tips for observing it effectively and safely. Wed 6-8:30 p.m.; Sat 3-5:30 p.m.
