Big Red Street Fair

If you've ever wondered what the deal is with that statue of a pile of sausages on the 16th Street Pedestrian Bridge, here's your chance to get better acquainted. This street fair will feature red cupcakes and red beers to honor National Velvet, John McEnroe's conceptual art piece on the 16th, as well as poetry readings inspired by the work. Thu 5:30 p.m.

Summer Sunset Concert

Bid farewell to another summer with the sound of the surf. Denver’s the Beloved Invaders will play classic beach tunes at the annual end-of-summer concert, including “Mirsirlou” from Pulp Fiction, The Chantays'  “Pipeline,” Duke Ellington's “Caravan,” and more. Enjoy one more relaxing evening in the park before winter sets in and summer nights become a memory. Thu 6:30-8 p.m.

National Theatre Live: The Tempest

Watch the Shakespearean tale of a sorcerer's scheme to reclaim his title as Duke of Milan unfold on London's National Theatre stage—without leaving the comfort of the Mile High City. Since 2009, National Theatre Live has shared live recordings of classic plays with cinemas around the world. Starring Chistopher Plummer (the Sound of Music, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, A Beautiful Mind) as Prospero, the Tempest—originally performed in 2010will be displayed on the big screen for two nights only. Fri 7 p.m., Sun 2 p.m.
