Rolling along beneath the feet of every skateboarder is a work of art—an expression of skate and DIY youth culture as integral to the equipment as the wheels and trucks. This month you can create your own mobile masterpiece on a functional skateboard deck at the Capitol Hill People’s Fair fundraiser for the Street Side Mural Project. All the supplies you need are provided, and if you win the deck art competition a Capitol Hill business will display your work for the month of June. Sat noon-4 p.m.

Urban Wine & Chocolate Run

Submitted by Sophie Goodman on Mon, 04/25/2016 - 3:57pm

You'd probably rather be home sipping wine and eating chocolate than running a race; luckily, this luxuriously themed 5K offers the opportunity to do both. The fun starts the night before the race with a party featuring live music by local band Soul School (and vino and chocolate, of course). The race itself laps the Colorado Rapids stadium, with the finish line broadcast on the Jumbo-Tron. The best part, though, is the optional Wine K, a 1K walk through wine and chocolate tasting stations that you can complete in addition to the 5K or by itself. Fri 5-8 p.m.; Sat 3 p.m.
