The flat course follows Northglenn's High Line Canal Trail and ends at the lake in EB Rains Park. Don’t miss out on the post-race pancake breakfast before the overall male and female winners receive gift certificates for free shoes at Road Runner Sports. Old-Fashioned Fourth of July

Submitted by Nicole Blanchard on Tue, 05/19/2015 - 1:06pm

Harken back to a simpler time with this Fort Collins Fourth of July celebration. It’s as if the Avery family (who helped settle the city) were hosting a lawn party in the 1800s, complete with Victorian-era games like croquet, checkers, and giant tic-tac-toe. Historic characters such as Uncle Sam and Fort Collins founder Auntie Stone help set the century-old scene along with 25-cent trinkets and traditional snacks of popcorn and lemonade. Sat 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Sat noon-7:30 p.m..

Arvada Independence Day Celebration

Submitted by Nicole Blanchard on Mon, 05/11/2015 - 3:04pm

Salute American independence with this outdoor Arvada bash. Apex Parks and Rec and KOOL105 will offer live entertainment. Leave your pooch at home, but bring along the propane grill for burgers and dogs done just the way you like ‘em. Not a grill master? The city also offers a variety of barbecue fare for those who still want to snack before the requisite fireworks display at the end of the night. Sat 4 p.m.

The Colorado Symphony's Family Friendly Fourth of July

Submitted by Corrie Sahling on Mon, 05/11/2015 - 1:42pm

Kids' eyes will sparkle as they watch the fireworks at this outdoor symphony show. Both you and your child should be able to recognize the contemporary scores from Frozen, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Pixar movies that are synchronized with the explosions of color. The symphony will also play Fourth of July ballads, such as Overture of 1812 and God Bless America. Sat 7:30 p.m.
