Spirits and the Melchizedek Children

Submitted by Kiran Herbert on Tue, 05/26/2015 - 1:38pm

Vocalist and guitarist Jason Elliott’s acoustic ramblings eventually gave way to psychedelic pop outfit Spirits and the Melchizedek Children, an Atlanta-based group the A.V. Club dubbed “the Southern Sigur Ros.” The band—which has shared the stage with Florence and the Machine—has a haunting, layered sound that recalls Mogwai, Radiohead, or even My Bloody Valentine. Comprised of Elliot, Bryan Fielden (drums), and Nathan Sadler (bass), the trio is currently recording and road testing new material. Wed 7 p.m.
