As business relax their corporate dress policies, knowing what's right to wear is getting tougher. Make sure you don't get caught with your pants down.
Last July, a memo to the rank and file in AT&T's Network Systems Group announced that "business casual" would be the new norm for Monday-through-Friday work dress. Although workers had enjoyed "dress-down" days for several years, this was the first time that management had mandated from on high that it was OK to loosen the tie throughout the week.
In one fell swoop more than 60,000 AT&T employees around the globe - and nearly 600 in Denver - had to relearn how to dress for success. Remembers one Denver clothier, "We had wives coming in here asking how their executive husbands should dress."
