A Long Look Back

October 1999

The Millenium began in Colorado with 275 years of unprecedented prosperity, a booming population, and proliferation of urban development. It ended with another 140 years of wealth and sprawl, on a scale the Coloradans of 1000 A.D. would never have dreamed possible.

During the centuries in between - roughly from 1300 to 1850 - our fair state witnessed a succession of tenants and claimants, most of whom stayed just a few hundred years.
