Get Involved: The BolderBoulder 10K.

May 2012

Every Memorial Day, Boulder residents—and plenty of us from elsewhere along the Front Range—lace up our sneakers for the region’s biggest little race: the BolderBoulder 10K. In 2011, more than 54,000 runners hit the course, and the influx of pavement pounders is worth it: Race after race, the BolderBoulder finds more ways to help the community. Here, the charitable breakdown. //$3 Scholarship money donated to University of Colorado Boulder’s cross-country team for every dollar pledged on race entry forms. //1,000 Number of shirts that racers donate to impoverished areas around the world and to Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. //3.8 Tons of untouched food—predominantly from racers’ snack packs—donated post-race to Community Food Share, a local food bank. //14.22 Tons of recyclable materials collected at the finish line. bolderboulder.com
