March Madness Watch Party
Brackets busted? Same. But the madness is just getting started. Watch every buzzer-beater on the big screen at ViewHouse, where the tournament is taking over every TV at all four locations across the Denver metro area. During this week’s Sweet 16 schedule, specials on burgers, wings, pizza, and beer will keep you fueled when the action continues into OT (or soften the blow of any shocking upsets). Now–April 6; times vary; free
Come From Away
On September 11, 2001, the small Canadian town of Gander, Newfoundland became the setting for an international phenomenon, when—after the World Trade Center terrorist attacks—38 planes carrying 7,000 passengers were forced to land at the local airport. This musical, which is based on the stories of real Gander residents and visitors, tracks the heartwarming events that followed, with townsfolk taking stranded travelers into their homes and community. March 27–May 10; times vary; tickets start at $60
Golden Carabiner
Forget the egg hunt this spring. Instead, you’ll want to focus on finding one of the 30 golden carabiners hidden on climbing routes across the Front Range. Starting March 28, climbers can purchase a clue sheet at various local outdoors stores (including Mountain Chalet, Bentgate Mountaineering, and Neptune Mountaineering) and seek out the hidden Black Diamond carabiner on various 5.6 to 5.12 routes each weekend. If you find a carabiner, be sure to take a photo of it and then head back to the shop to redeem your prize. If not, you can console yourself at the after-party on April 11 at Neptune Mountaineering. March 28, April 5 & April 11; clue sheet pickup starts at 8 a.m.; $20 donation per person
Denver Summit FC Inaugural Match Watch Party at McGregor Square
The Mile High City may not be hosting a FIFA World Cup match this summer, but we have some equally exciting soccer news of our own. Denver Summit FC, the city’s first National Women’s Soccer League team, plays its inaugural home opener against the Washington Spirit on Saturday at Empower Field. Footie fans who want to be a part of history can still purchase tickets to the game (starting at $32). For a free watch party, head to McGregor Square. March 28; noon–3 p.m.; free, RSVP here
Art in the Everyday Workshop

When you think of art, your first thought is probably a painting, sculpture, or photo. But there’s art in everyday objects—and that’s exactly the premise of this traveling exhibition. The show, which started in Calgary, Alberta, and has been to Maryland, Hawaii, and Chicago, asks attendees to design a circle with recycled materials, paint, needlework, and more. The piece you create will be combined with the others to form a community-built quilt that will travel to other cities. March 29, April 19 & May 10; 11 a.m.; $25 per person
Totally ’80s Après Patio Ski Party
If you’re more into the après activities than actually skiing (i.e., hauling your skis and boots around a resort, sitting in I-70 traffic, and paying $30 for a cheeseburger), this throwback party is for you. Adrift Tiki Bar is hosting a retro ski party where you can indulge in all the après behaviors without leaving the Front Range. Think: shotskis, neon ’80s outfits (there will be a costume contest), and music from DJ Toucan Sam and DJ Plusha. March 29; 1–5 p.m.; $25
