The Local newsletter is your free, daily guide to life in Colorado. For locals, by locals.
Colorado Today Live: Up First with A Martínez
Colorado Today and Up First might be less-than-15-minute podcasts, but it takes hours to produce these dailies. During this live discussion, NPR’s A Martínez will talk with CPR’s Bazi Kanani and Arlo Peréz Esquivel about his career path, navigating news fatigue, and finding moments of joy during emotionally intense news cycles. March 10; 6:30–8 p.m.; $15
Society 303 Wine Bar x Molino Chido
If you haven’t been converted to additive-free natural wine, this paired dinner at Molino Chido (and the absence of a headache the next day) might do the trick. Natasha Sztevanovity from natural wine bar Society 303 will pour low-intervention bottles alongside a Mexican prix-fixe menu at the Aurora taqueria. March 10; 4 p.m.; $75
Remy Le Boeuf Quartet
As a 2026 Grammy Award–winner, saxophonist Remy Le Boeuf is in similar company with Bad Bunny, Kendrick Lamar, and Lady Gaga—though expect much less pop and much more jazz tunes from Le Boeuf during this three-week residency at Nocturne. Enjoy Le Boeuf’s quartet over a three-course meal or belly up to the bar and order the jazz history cocktail flight. March 12, 19 & 26; Thursdays 6:30–7:45 p.m., 8:30–9:45 p.m.; starting at $29 per person
St. Patrick’s Puppy Parade and Costume Contest
While we like donning our best kilts and Scully caps on St. Patty’s Day as much as the next lad or lass, we can agree they look even cuter on our canines. Dress up your four-legged friend in green and head to this costume contest, where there will be a special menu for pups and an Irish-inspired food and beverage menu for “pawrents.” March 14; 11 a.m.; $10 donation per dog
Irishfest Denver

After the St. Patrick’s Day Parade around LoDo, head to this Ballpark bash to jig the rest of the day away. You can start the top o’ the morning with an Irish coffee, then watch the McTeggart Irish Dancers light up the stage, and hear the upbeat bagpipes of Celtic Legacy—all while quaffing refreshing beer and digging into regional delicacies (Guiness Irish stew, anyone?). March 14; 8 a.m.–8 p.m.; $12–$55
Local Author Meet & Greet
Before you craft your summer reading list, you might want to swing by Fiction Beer Company for this literary event teeming with local authors. Writers including fantasy novelist Rae Valtera, sci-fi scribe Ian Thomas Healy, and romance author Christine Layne will mingle with guests and sign copies of their work. Your summer TBR won’t build itself. March 15; 3–6 p.m.; free attendance
