Free Stuff: Peteybird To Give Away 1,000 Ice Cream Sandwiches

April 4 2014, 10:00 AM

Peteybird, with its pink ice cream sandwich–peddling bikes, is back. After hibernating for the winter, the cycles will again take to the streets Friday, April 4, to hand out free ice cream sandwiches. Coinciding with the Colorado Rockiesopening day, the two bikes will pedal around Coors Field between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. giving out treats to the first 1,000 people who flag them down. (After the freebies are gone, sandwiches will go for $2 each.)

This spring's flavor lineup includes standbys such as graham cracker and key lime, chocolate and mint chocolate chip, and sugar and strawberry, plus the newly created sugar and strawberry-jalapeño, and wasabi ginger and brown sugar carrot.

Peteybird is coy about the exact routes but the bikes will send out “clues” via FacebookTwitter and Instagram on game day.

Tip: Word is the bikes will definitely stop at Great DivideOur Mutual Friend Malt & BrewEpic Brewing, and Black Shirt Brewing.
