For those of us who missed the Aspen Food & Wine Classic [2], the mountains offer another (and more affordable) chance to enjoy top-notch noshing this weekend. The first-ever Crested Butte Land Trust Wine & Food Festival [3] brings together Denver and Crested Butte chefs (think Andrea Frizzi, Il Posto [4]; Elise Wiggins, Panzano [5]; Tyler Wiard, Elway's [6]; Tim Egelhoff, Timberline [7]), and a handful of master sommeliers. Classes cover Bordeaux and bourbon, and each evening, the chefs whip up a multicourse meal. Proceeds from this event benefit the Crested Butte Land Trust [8], an organization dedicated to conserving mountain habitats, but the best part of the festival is that events are sold individually.
