Boulder police are telling JonBenet Ramsey's father that they are back on the case. That's according to something like 400 news sources around the world, including CNN , which seems as obsessed as ever with the mysterious 1996 slaying of the six-year-old beauty queen. Since 2002, Boulder's district attorney has been responsible for ferreting out the killer, but now Boulder police chief Mark Beckner will take another crack, including the creation of a reserve of task force of investigators, including feds, to advise police. For many years, JonBenet's mother, Patsy Ramsey, was a suspect, but she was never indicted by a grand jury. She died in 2006 of ovarian cancer. The case has also seen its share of circus acts, including the detainment of former teacher John Mark Kerr in Thailand in 2006. Larry Pozner, a Denver defense attorney, doesn't expect new leads or suspects to come from the task force or future police work, because the "case is badly damaged," writes Boulder's Daily Camera .
