Mardean Gibson estimates that at least 150 of her 200-odd garden gnomes were kidnapped from their tiny village of mushroom homes in her front yard near Otis Avenue and Reno Drive in Arvada. "Sad," Gibson tells Fox 31 , "that you can't have anything nice anymore." She fears that her gnome family, which took years of collecting to put together, will be broken up---perhaps sold online. Gibson estimates the cost of her gnomes at about $2,000; most were gifts, she tells 9News . Arvada police are investigating, but so far, neighbors have been unhelpful, leaving Gibson to make a plea. She'd like the gnomes back, and if the thief or thieves return them, she'll take 'em. No questions asked.
