Nothing cures a case of the Mondays like a deal. So, if you find yourself in Boulder, stop off at one of Salvaggio's Italian Deli's three locations.
Here, enormous sandwiches—on rolls the size of salad plates and subs that extend 16 inches—are stacked to order with Boar's Head meats and cheeses. Despite the premium toppings and the sheer size of the eats, the prices are refreshingly low.
Sandwiches built on house-made rolls are just $6.75, while freshly baked subs run $8.95—and both provide more than enough food for either two people or two lunches. (For comparison, the Spicy Pickle 's location across the street sells their sandwiches for between $5.95 and $6.95, but they're far smaller and don't employ the same quality ingredients.)
My favorite Salvaggio offering is the hot pastrami with the works (lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, pickles, salt, pepper, vinegar, mayo, mustard, and olive oil) on a roll. Order it, and find a new—and inexpensive—lunch staple.
