Back in September, we reviewed [2] Satchel's Market in north Park Hill—just a few short weeks before it closed unexpectedly [3]. I've missed the spot, so I'm happy to report that Satchel's on 6th [4] (a dialed-down version of the original restaurant) will open on Saturday, April 9.
Owner Andrew Casalini and executive chef Jared Brant (whom Casalini hired away from Bones [5]) have created an intimate space with 50 seats and a tight menu of about a dozen offerings, including lamb belly confit and a spring-like asparagus salad with country-style ham, poached egg, and ricotta cheese.
I haven't tasted anything just yet, but given Brant's talent, I expect the short rib meatloaf and house-made pickles are destined to become neighborhood favorites.
