Even if the powers that be didn’t put “Colorado” in the name, this is going to be one helluva killer bike race—and it’s about damn time our cycling-crazed state hosted one of this caliber. Starting in Colorado Springs on August 22, the race will head to the high country for some serious pedaling—including two 12,000-foot climbs—over the following week. Some of the world’s best riders and pro teams—including Boulder’s own Garmin-Cervélo squad—will tackle the mountains in and around Crested Butte, Aspen, Gunnison, Vail, Steamboat, and Breckenridge. The conclusion promises to be a thriller as the peloton travels from Golden to Denver on August 28. Stake out your cheering spot today. www.usaprocyclingchallenge.com [2]
