Sips: Cocktails Built for Halloween

This Halloween, trade the candy for something more exciting: a spooky-themed cocktail. Better yet, turn your night into a bar crawl and dub it adult trick-or-treating.

Begin your haunt at Riverfront with Al Lado [2]’s Sinister Sangría. This slightly spicy cocktail is easy to drink thanks to muddled orange and green apple, hibiscus, habanero-infused tequila, red wine, and blood orange purée.

Then, make your way to Colt & Gray [3] on Platte Street for a Satan’s Whiskers. Sip the devilish mix of gin, sweet and dry vermouth, orange juice, Cointreau, and house-made orange bitters. (Meanwhile, ogle the conversation-starting collection of drink mixers, such as "unicorn tears.")

Finish up the evening at Linger [4], an obvious choice since the property previously housed part of the Olinger Mortuary. Order the appropriately named Corpse Reviver #2 (pictured). Strong but subtle, this blend of gin, Lillet Blanc, Combier d’Orange, and lemon juice gets its ghostly glow from absinthe.

Bonus: You can park once and access all three of these locations using 15th Street and the pedestrian bridge.
