Steakhouse Steal: Three Courses for $33 at Edge

If you haven't been to Edge [2], the modern American steakhouse inside the Four Seasons Hotel [3] downtown, now is the time. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, this weekend and next, Edge is offering a special "Power of Three" menu. For just $33, diners get a choice of three appetizers (butternut squash soup, beet salad, iceberg wedge); three main dishes (filet, pork chop, salmon) and sides (grilled vegetables, glazed carrots, "bubble and squeak" mashed potatoes); and three desserts (sorbet, sticky toffee pudding, and peanut butter crunch).

When I dined, I ordered the beet salad, filet, bubble squeak, and sorbet. I also signed on for the accompanying three-course wine pairings for just $20. Each course was beautifully prepared, and the pairings were spot on.

For $53, you can't beat this steakhouse and wine special anywhere in town. But hurry, it ends December 1.

Tip: Asked to be seated on the far end of the restaurant away from the bar, which draws a noisy crowd on weekends.
