"Ask A Chef" is part of an on-going series in which we pose a single question to a local luminary.
5280: Do you have a favorite cookbook?
YLH: I have several cookbooks that I go back to, but it depends on if it’s for desserts and pastries or for more savory dishes. I like Le Bernardin Cookbook , the Bread Baker’s Apprentice by Peter Reinhart, the French Laundry Cookbook , the Moro Cookbook by Samantha Clark, and anything from Alice Waters . The style of each cookbook is different, but the way that they use ingredients is similar.
Get Inspired: Eric Ripert , the celebrated executive chef of the aforementioned Le Bernardin , and Anthony Bourdain , the celeb chef, author, and mega television personality, team up on April 14 for a night of Good vs. Evil at Macky Auditorium. "Two chefs. Two unlikely friends. Two very different careers and philosophies sharing one stage." Tickets run $45–$65, $150 for VIP.
