What can $967 per square foot get you in downtown Denver? The answer: this 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom half-floor estate in the Four Seasons Residences , which was sold by Fuller Sotheby's Douglas Kerbs earlier this year for $4.9 million. The deal netted Kerbs two local real estate records: the highest sold price for an attached, detached, or single family home in all of downtown Denver, and the highest selling-price-per-square-foot condo in the entire six-county Denver metro region.
The new owners spent nearly a year customizing the 5,000-square-foot home before moving in. “There are a lot of intricate, high-end finishes you typically don’t see,” Kerbs says. “It’s really indicative of New York City, Manhattan penthouses.” But the unobstructed views from Pikes to Longs peaks—which can be soaked in from two sizeable terraces or through nearly floor-to-ceiling windows—are all Colorado.
The record-breaking sale wasn’t Kerbs’ first: As recently as 2012, he closed a luxury unit at One Lincoln Park for $649 a square foot, which was $100 per square foot higher than the 2011 record. So what’s next? “I see a lot of our desirable neighborhoods maturing as Denver grows,” Kerbs says. “I don’t think this is the top.”
