If a boutique coffee shop can put an emerging neighborhood on the map, then SloHi—the area south of Highland Square but north of Sloan’s Lake—has officially arrived. Earlier this month, the aptly named SloHi Coffee Co. quietly opened its doors. The petite shop features straightforward but locally-obsessed offerings like Bobo’s Oat Bars from Boulder, baked goods from Englewood’s Share Good Foods , RiNo’s Happy Leaf Kombucha , and espresso drinks made with Denver-roasted Novo Coffee .
SloHi’s iced drink program is especially impressive. Decaf and regular coffee, kombucha, and chai are all poured cold from custom-made wooden taps. The iced coffee I recently ordered (pictured) was a combination of Novo’s Anyetsu and Belekatu beans, cold brewed, and poured like stout from a nitro tap. The result: A velvety texture that showcased the floral and berry notes of Novo’s lighter roasting style. I strongly suggest sipping the carefully prepared iced coffee before adding simple syrup or cream.
Cyclists take note: SloHi Coffee Co. is connected to SloHi Bike Co. Fuel up on Front Range goodies while someone else changes out your tube.
