Pint's Pub has a large variety, supposedly the largest in the world, of single malt whisky.
We already know Colorado is a hub for craft beer . But with more than 30 whiskey distilleries, our state is also a leader in and destination for craft whiskey production. Here are five ways to celebrate the Centennial State's spirit(s) during the second annual Colorado Whiskey Week , which takes place May 16–22 (as if you needed a reason).
Get a whiskey delivered: Use Drizly , the alcohol home delivery company, to snag a bottle of Leopold Bros. New York Apple Whiskey (or a variety of Colorado-made whiskeys) without leaving your house. Drizly will waive delivery fees May 16–22.
Take a tour: Check out local distilleries and, most importantly, enjoy some samples during special tours and tastings. Mile High Spirits is giving free tours all week; Laws Whiskey House is offering two-for-one tour pricing Thursday to Saturday; Feisty Spirits has special tours Thursday to Saturday; and Distillery 291 's tasting room will be open Thursday to Sunday.
Enjoy a side of history with your whiskey: Take a road trip to Pueblo's El Pueblo History Mueseum for the third annual Whiskeys of the West on May 21. The event features special drinks prepared using Colorado spirits, as well as live music and history performaces. Drink and do good, as all proceeds from the event benefit the museum's educational and after-school programs.
Mix doughnuts with craft whiskey: Wash down fried dough with a variety of whiskeys at the third annual Whiskey Throwdown & Doughnut Showdown on May 21. $45 gets you unlimited samples of doughnuts and whiskeys. Two sessions are available and a portion of proceeds go to Minds Matter, a nonprofit that supports low-income, high-achieving students.
Sample the other kind of whisky: Although this week focuses on whiskey with an 'e', expand your palate by sampling a few of Pint's Pub's single-malt whiskys (they boast having one of the largest selections in the world).
