Webb Lobbies for DNC Post

As we reported previously [2], former Denver mayor Wellington Webb is actively lobbying for the chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee. The Associated Press now reports that Webb has sent videos to state party chairmen [3] promoting his interest in the job. Webb, who was elected to three terms as Denver mayor beginning in 1991, and was mentioned as a contender for the DNC post by the Rev. Al Sharpton on Sunday's "Meet the Press," is said to be disliked by some in organized labor [4] because of clashes with unions when he was in office. Democrats will vote in February to replace outgoing chairman Terry McAuliffe.
