Grossman, who was first elected to the state House of Representatives in 1996 when he was 27 and single, now has a wife, a 15-month-old daughter and another child due in June. Grossman became the youngest person to serve as House minority leader in 2000. He is a lawyer and had previously considered running for attorney general. "I can't see how I could do all three -- be in the Legislature, be a lawyer and be a dad," he said Monday.Grossman reports there already is a lot of competition for his seat which is in the predominately Democratic district that includes Capitol Hill, Washington Park and Cherry Creek. Among those expressing interest: State Rep. Fran Coleman; Jennifer Mello, former policy director for the House Democrats; Chris Romer, son of former Gov. Roy Romer, and banker Jim Polsfut. Republican Josh Hanfling has also expressed interest, Grossman said.
