For the Marrs family, dairy farming is not just a job, it’s a lifestyle. The Marrs family has been dairying in Colorado since the 1940’s. With experience steeped in family tradition, Eldon and Hilary Marrs are proud to be teaching their sons to be good stewards of the land and livestock.
“As members of Dairy Farmers of America, our passion is to produce the best quality milk we can for your family in a safe and environmentally sustainable way,” says Hilary Marrs. “We have a vested and personal relationship with the quality of our product, and the impact that producing it has on our environment.”
The dairy adheres to DFA’s Gold Standard program and the National Dairy F.A.R.M. (Farmers Assuring Responsible Management) program, which include second and third party inspections of animal care and comfort, facility cleanliness and employee training in animal care and safety. The family understands the ongoing concern with antibiotic use, and only utilizes them when strictly necessary – and under the supervision of a veterinarian. No artificial growth hormones are ever used on the dairy, and every tank load of milk that leaves the dairy is tested for quality and the presence of antibiotics. “Consumers should know that any dairy product they purchase, whether organic or from a conventional dairy like ours, is the same safe and healthy product that we have on our family’s table.”
