Oh, Hutch & Spoon, how I love thee. This teensy spot (with fewer than 10 tables) dishes up simple, homey eats like grilled cheese with homemade peach chutney, meatloaf and cheddar sandwiches, and tuna and eggplant caponata. The menu is small—and written on several small chalkboards—but packed with hits, right down to the satisfying scrambled egg and feta breakfast sandwich.

The brainchild of Tracy Zimmer (you might recognize him as your favorite server from Deluxe), the six-week-old eatery on north Larimer is still gaining traction. This, and the historic 125-year-old Charpiot building in which it’s located, make Hutch & Spoon feel like a best-kept secret. Go forth and discover it—and don’t miss the seasonal, freshly squeezed watermelon lemonade.
