Studies show that full-immersion, bilingual education enhances children’s learning in all academic areas. Knowing a second language improves their comprehension, communication and problem-solving skills. Denver Montclair International School (DMIS) offers full-immersion, bilingual education in French, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish to children 3 years old though 5th grade. Our students not only learn how to read, write and speak two languages, but they also gain a global perspective, multicultural sensitivity and achieve higher levels of academic success than their monolingual peers. Established in 1977, DMIS is the Rocky Mountain region’s oldest international school.
DMIS is opening a middle school this fall, starting with the 6th grade and adding a grade each year. DMIS is pursuing authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to offer the Middle Years Program to all students in grades 6 – 8 and recently achieved candidate status. DMIS will offer two tracks of foreign language instruction in French, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish at the middle school level -- the Novice track (for students with little to no prior foreign language experience) and the Intermediate/Advanced track. All students are welcome to apply.
