“Each of you is in a position to write your own history,” Founding Headmaster Froelicher told students at Fountain Valley School’s opening day in 1930. This same spirit of challenge, unbounded opportunity, and responsibility defines FVS today.
FVS has an extraordinarily broad program: AP and honors courses in every discipline, and experiential programs unique to the School such as the Western Immersion Program and Interim. The accomplished faculty understands, respects and nurtures young minds. With an average class size of 12, they have the opportunity to challenge students to push the limits of their potential.
FVS emphasizes global education and experiences, and is a member of Round Square, a worldwide network of more than 100 schools promoting global literacy. There are only nine member schools in the U.S., and Round Square offers students opportunities for exchanges, service learning projects and international conferences.
The Class of 2013 earned admission to select colleges and universities including Dartmouth, Smith, and Pomona.
The School’s 29 competitive sports include a boys hockey prep program that will travel to tournaments in the Midwest and East. The English riding team has twice won the high school national title; the boys climbing team won the 2012 state title, and the mountain bike racing team finished fourth in the state in its first season.
The School’s spectacular setting offers a continual source of inspiration. Historical adobe architecture is surrounded by 1,100 acres, making the campus a serene haven to learn, pursue passions, make lifelong friends, work hard and play hard.
Located in Colorado Springs, FVS has both day and boarding options, and it is close enough for Denver families to attend events and for students to visit home.
