Audience and actors stroll through the gardens, while scenes are performed along the way.

Little ones can learn all about life as a pioneer with historic demonstrations of sewing, quilting, blacksmithing, and wagon rides. Then explore replicas of Native American tipis and learn what it was like to be a miner and trapper in the Wild West.

Toss on a cowboy hat, hop a train, and travel back in time to when Denver was a frontier town. Little cowpokes will learn about how railroads ruled the Wild West—vying with the horse for the main means of transportation. Encounter outlaw train robbers, the sheriffs that tried to catch them, and the ladies and gents who lived in Old West towns. Sat 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Ever wonder how space probes soar through the solar system or how robots make such great assistants to surgeons? Discover the answers to these questions and more as Wings Over the Rockies welcomes families into the future with its unique robotics display. You'll also have the chance to meet with local inventors and roboticists behind the designs of some of today's most important automatons.

Little ones know her fairy tales and nursery rhymes, but a story about dinosaurs? Listen to Mother Goose and her dinosaur puppet pals tell magical stories, sing songs, and explore the Dinosaur Resource Center’s fossils of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Sat 1:30 p.m.

Gather up all the little cowpokes around the...symphony pit. Instead of a campfire, the smallest rustlers will hear a tale of cowboy life paired with a 16-piece chamber group from the Colorado Symphony Orchestra playing works by Aaron Copland and Gioachino Rossini.

Get ready for an underwater adventure at the aquarium. Dress up like a pirate, mermaid, or ocean creature for the costume contest. The festival also includes a treasure hunt, make-your-own eyepatch, games, and more. All activities take place outdoors, so dress for the weather. Sat 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Kids can turn nature into art when they build and bind their very own sketchbooks. The wee artists will use the natural world as inspiration as they trace, sketch, paint with watercolors, and stamp the Earth's wonders. Local experts on Colorado wildlife will be on hand to teach about the natural world. Thu 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Who doesn’t like to get a little bit dirty every once in awhile? Bring your kids to learn about artifacts and fossils dug up from the ground by paleontologists and archaeologists. Youngsters will handle real fossils and search the soil for living creatures.

When the sun goes down, bats take wing and search the night skies for tasty insects. Bring the whole family to see photos and learn about these mysterious flying mammals. Ronal Kerbo, a former cave resource specialist for the U.S. National Park Service, will share mysterious details on where bats live, what they eat, and how they survive in places like Colorado.
