The Bouldering Bus, a school bus transformed into a mobile bouldering gym, rolls into downtown Boulder on October 26, courtesy of the Women’s Wilderness Institute, a nonprofit that introduces girls and women to outdoor adventures. The bus includes padded floors and more than 600-square feet of climbing space.

The Institute recently acquired the bus from Christin and Ken Bellian, a husband and wife couple who converted the bus while living in North Carolina. The pair moved to Boulder in 2010, and when Christin joined the board for the Women’s Wilderness Institute, she gifted the organization with the mobile climbing gym. The Institute plans to offer bus visits to schools, afterschool programs, Girl Scouts, and many other Colorado organizations for free or for very little cost.

See for yourself Saturday 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at Boulder High School and 2-5 p.m. at Southern Sun and Neptune Mountaineering, or click through our slideshow now.
