At 27, Jeremy Bloom, a U.S. Olympic freestyle skier and former pro-football wide receiver and University of Colorado athlete, is helping seniors struggling in the economy by granting them wishes through his foundation. Bloom, who may vie for a third Olympics in Canada next year, tells The New York Times, that since launching his foundation last October, he has granted six wishes, including a fishing vacation for an immigrant couple from the former Soviet Union and a trip that allowed a woman to visit her cancer-stricken daughter in Arizona. On April 30, Bloom’s foundation will grant 10 more wishes at a fund-raising dinner in Denver that will auction items from John Elway, Sasha Cohen, and Brady Quinn.
