The Rocky Mountain News has obtained a copy of an e-mail FEMA’s former Katrina director-in-chief sent to family members. He casts himself as a victim of Katrina:

“I don’t mind the negative press (well, actually, I do, but I try to ignore it) but it is really wearing out the family,” Brown wrote. “No wonder people don’t go into public service. This country is devouring itself, the 24-hour news cycle is numbing our ability to think for ourselves.”

As Think Progress says,

Thousands have died and a million people have been displaced but Brown complains that he’s a victim….The families who were stranded at the convention center and the Superdome without food, water or security had a lot more to worry about than negative press.
