Jessica Farmwald is the primary copy editor for 5280 and its ancillary publications. Farmwald also manages daily copy flow and deadline coordination, and she maintains the house style guide. She blogs at, writes for 5280’s front-of-the-book sections, Front Range and Scene, and contributes to service packages. Farmwald grew up in northern Indiana and earned a degree in anthropology at the University of Notre Dame—along with completing the school’s Gallivan Program in Journalism, Ethics, and Democracy—before trading the Midwest for the mountains in 2010. While at Notre Dame she was the editor-in-chief of Scholastic magazine, the nation’s oldest continuous collegiate publication, and won the Paul Neville Award for Excellence in Journalism. Farmwald joined the 5280 staff full-time in 2012 and lives in Denver.
