Steuben’s

There are a lot of drinks out there that call themselves martinis, but we are proud martini purists: We’re talking gin and dry vermouth, chilled with generous amounts of ice, strained into a martini glass, and garnished with olives or a lemon twist. Fortunately, we found a superlative rendition at Steuben’s (see page 174 to read about Steuben’s master mixologist Randy Layman). No, it’s not vodka. No, it’s not chilled gin. No, it’s not dirty, for Christ’s sake (although if that’s your thing, they’ll surely make it for you). It’s a simple, traditional martini, made expertly and with great care—as it should be. 523 E. 17th Ave., 303-830-1001, steubens.com
