It’s slim pickin’s these days in the ol’ coaching category. There are new coaches at Folsom Field, Hughes Stadium, Moby Arena, and Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Plus, the Rox have been a little, um, less than stellar this season. But there is one guy who surprised us all despite some unusual circumstances: John Fox was handed a quarterback controversy that pitted Kyle “I Can’t Buy a Touchdown” Orton against Tim “I Can’t Pass for a Touchdown” Tebow. But Fox didn’t throw up his hands; instead, he switched up the playbook to match Tebow’s strengths and made sure his defense kept the Broncos in the game. And it worked. We’re looking forward to seeing how a defensively minded Fox—who has favored the run on offense in the past—will adapt to Peyton Manning’s laser-rocket arm.
