Top of the Town 2012
Comedian
We first became acquainted with Adam Cayton-Holland during his stint as a Westword staff writer and “What’s So Funny” columnist a few years back. So it wasn’t a huge stretch when, in 2009, Cayton-Holland departed the weekly and made his part-time standup gig a full-time routine. Three years later, he’s come into his own as one of Denver’s most irreverently amusing voices. With a nerdy wit that can quickly devolve into raunchy punch lines, Cayton-Holland has the kind of stage presence that’s less in-your-face, more social commentary that hits home underneath the provocative monologue. He refers to it as a “very comfortable R-rated movie.” The funnyman tours nationally, but catch him in Denver at Comedy Works or at the Bug Theatre on the last Friday of every month for the Grawlix, a standup show featuring Cayton-Holland and cohorts Andrew Orvedahl and Ben Roy. adamisfreakingoutrightnow.com
