This much we know: On February 8, 9News anchor Kyle Dyer was mauled by a dog, on air, and sustained serious injuries to her face. And although Dyer has spoken candidly about the trauma, none of us will ever really know what she went through, both personally and professionally, during her recovery. Having a dog attack your face is one thing; having your face disfigured when you earn your living showing your face on TV is something else entirely. From our seats, it’s something like a writer having his or her hands mangled—except much worse. We applaud Dyer for her strength, positive attitude, and willingness to answer questions about whether or not she made a mistake in getting too close to the dog. (Her answer: Yes.) But mostly, we’re just happy she’s back on the air.
