Bio

David McKenna joined 5280 as art director in March 2010. Before moving to Denver from New York City, McKenna held a number of high-profile positions at national magazines, most recently at National Geographic Adventure where he was a key part of the team that garnered a 2008 National Magazine Award nomination in General Excellence. In addition, his work has been honored by the Society of Publication Designers, American Photo, American Illustration, and the City and Regional Magazine Association, which named McKenna a finalist for Designer of the Year in 2011. McKenna has also held staff and freelance positions at Money Magazine, Inc. Magazine, and More Magazine. He studied art at Rutgers University and lives in Denver with his wife and son.
