Airport travel is more exhausting than ever, so a touch of luxury before boarding a flight goes a long way in preserving a traveler’s sanity. That’s why we’re thrilled to have Elway’s open an outpost on Concourse B at Denver International Airport. Although the steak house is still in the throes of construction, Elway’s DIA is slated to open its doors sometime in early June.

Showcasing an upscale-casual design from Rowland + Broughton (the same team that designed Lounge 5280 on Concourse B mezzanine and Pacifica in Aspen), the restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Chef and culinary director Tyler Wiard is working on a menu that includes Elway’s lamb chop fondue appetizer and entrées such as lobster, fresh fish, and the signature aged, hand-cut Prime steaks. In addition, huevos rancheros, a wide selection of Benedicts, and the restaurant’s popular smash burger will target the earlier daytime crowd.

Following the creation of the new menu, Wiard will hand the reins over to executive chef Humberto Marquina to man the burners.

Bonus: Elway’s is just one of the new additions to DIA’s suddenly thriving dining scene. Outposts of Root Down and Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs are in the works, while Udi’s Cafe & Bar (which opened yesterday), Crú Wine Bar, and two Vino Volos are already serving.
