NEW: LIME EXPANDS On Sunday, Lime XS opened on the corner of Sixth Avenue and Clarkson Street—it’s the popular cantina’s second location in Denver. Look for the same food (addictive chips and salsa) and drinks (halved limes filled with tequila) as the Larimer Square locale; the only difference, says owner Curt Sims, is space—this Lime is “literally half the size, which is why we call it XS, as in extra small.” XS serves lunch and dinner and offers take-out seven days a week. Sims has a third location planned for the Landmark Project in the DTC (this one will be about a third larger than the original), with a target opening of March or April. 730 E. Sixth Ave., 303-722-LIME and 1424 Larimer Square, 303-893-5463,

EAT: TODAY, SEPT. 26, IS NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY Celebrate the hotcake at Snooze, a retro-styled, breakfast-all-day-restaurant in the Ballpark neighborhood. In honor of the breakfast staple, owner Jon Schlegel says his “a.m. eatery” will serve the restaurant’s top 10 flavors today—and each table will receive a free flapjack. Some of the choices are pretty wacky (say, the Butterfinger or peanut butter and chocolate flavors), but others sound downright delicious: pineapple upside-down pancakes, wild blueberry with homemade ginger butter and clover honey glaze, and the whole grain buttermilk griddlecakes with fresh fruit and toasted cashew butter. 2262 Larimer St., 303-297-0700, TIP: FRESH SEAFOOD FOR LESS Imagine this: Lobster dinner for nine scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening. The table is set, the house clean, but at 2:30 p.m. I learn our $4.99/pound lobsters (Fed-Exed from Maine) are stuck in Memphis and won’t arrive until Monday. Mild panic sets in and frantic phone calls to Whole Foods and Tony’s Meats for king crab legs ensue. Both result in sticker shock: $12.98 to $23.98 dollars a pound! A drive to Alameda Avenue delivers me to the fresh fish market inside Pacific Ocean International Supermarket, where live lobsters go for $6.99/pound and live crab run $5.99/pound. I leave 20 minutes later with crab for nine—dinner is saved. 2200 W. Alameda Ave. 2B, 303-935-2470.
