Pat Bowlen will invest more in head coaching for the fall 2009 season than any other owner in the National Football League, starting with Mike Shanahan’s replacement, Josh McDaniels, who did not come cheap. The Denver Post reports that McDaniels scored a four-year, $11.9 million deal, which is slightly higher than what the St. Louis Rams are paying their new coach, Steve Spagnuolo. In addition to a remaining obligation of at least $20 million to Shanahan, Bowlen will pay more than $28 million to two head coaches over three years.
