Rocky Mountain News Still Publishing

The Rocky Mountain News filled news boxes and is still publishing online this morning. The company that is seeking to sell the newspaper, E.W. Scripps Co., set a deadline for accepting bids from potential buyers on Friday amid fears that the newspaper might be shut down shortly thereafter.

It’s not exactly clear whether Scripps received any worthy offers, as executives evaluate, according to The Associated Press.

And the atmosphere at the newspaper seems a bit tense. Employees received a memo stating that anticipated bonuses would be delayed until the end of the month, according to Westword. It’s probably a “simple processing glitch,” but one that’s making some employees wonder whether they’ll ever see the much-needed cash.
