After his plane lands in Denver around 11:30 a.m., President Barack Obama will be whisked to the Museum of Nature and Science in City Park, where he will check out the solar panels on the roof. Then he will sign a $787 billion economic stimulus bill that no Republicans supported, as The Denver Post points out.

Obama is expected to highlight his administration’s embrace of renewable energy to an audience of industry workers and top Colorado Democrats, the Rocky Mountain News reports.

Quoting experts, the Denver Business Journal calls Obama’s visit a “much-needed boost for Colorado’s flagging renewable energy companies, and also a pat on the back for the state and its focus on alternative energy.”

Still, why not sign the bill at a foreclosed home or in a welfare office? opines local public television producer Dominic Dezzutti at his CBS4 blog.

And ProPublica wonders whether the website designed to provide oversight of the stimulus bill–recovery.gov–will really allow the rest of us to follow the money.
