fortcollinslogo08The city of Fort Collins may have rejected the logo, but it lives on in television. NBC’s new mockumentary, “Parks and Recreation,” takes place in the fictional City of Pawnee, which bears a logo that looks strikingly similar to the one designed by Nashville consulting firm Northstar Destination Strategies, as part of a recent Fort Collins re-branding campaign, writes the Coloradoan. Following public protests last year that the logo was bland and really expensive, Fort Collins officials tweaked the design to include representation of a rock formation. At the time of the upheaval, the now-defunct Rocky Mountain Chronicle parsed the city’s re-branding process and then held a contest asking readers to send in their own logo designs. “Parks and Recreation,” starring Amy Poehler of Saturday Night Live fame, debuts April 9 on NBC.
