Colorado Attorney General John Suthers announced the indictment of 15 undocumented immigrants in a statewide prostitution sting yesterday that shut down nearly one dozen brothels in Denver, Longmont, and Glenwood Springs, according to 7News. Patrons would pay about $50 for 15 minutes of sex at the brothels, headed by Sonia Montoya-Cadena, 54, and the brothels would then divide the money with the prostitutes. A long list of police organizations participated in the bust, including the FBI, U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, and Denver police, INDenverTimes reports. “Watchmen” guarded each location, where patrons would receive a glass bead or similar object to hand to prostitutes to prove they had paid, writes the Grand Junction Sentinel. Suthers describes the brothels as “blights on the community,” notes the Aspen Daily News, which writes that managers at the Roaring Fork Inn and Cabins say they were stunned by the news of the investigation and knew nothing about a brothel being run there.
