Greeley’s JBS Swift Beef Co. has issued a recall for 41,000 pounds of sirloin steak and ground sirloin in 13 states, including Colorado, citing potential E. coli contamination. The problem was discovered by U.S. Department of Agriculture inspectors through microbiological sampling and an investigation into the products’ distribution, according to The Omaha World-Herald, which notes that the plant identified a malfunction in its bacteria-killing, acid-rinsing process in April.

No illnesses have been reported from the beef that was shipped to Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and Wisconsin, according to The Denver Post. More details on the recall are available here.
