duval-davidThe Wall Street Journal apologized to golfer David Duval yesterday but also chided him for not giving living legend Tiger Woods more competition over the last decade. Duval, who calls Colorado home, finished the U.S. Open golf tournament yesterday tied for second place, four spots ahead of Woods. South Carolina-native Lucas Glover won the tournament, which was besieged by rain and late starts, The Washington Post notes.

Duval was once the world’s No. 1 golfer but entered the Open ranked No. 882, according to USA Today. His second-place finish vaulted him 740 spots to No. 142 in the world. He hasn’t won a tournament since the 2001 British Open, but kudos are in order for Duval.
