Rewind. Late last week, the Denver Film Society witnessed a massive exodus of familiar names, including associate director Britta Erickson, as a vague battle of apparent differences and budgetary problems raged with new executive director Bo Smith. But now, as indieWIRE reports, the society’s board has given Smith the ax and has asked Erickson to return, naming her as his successor. The dramatic twist at Colorado’s premier film institution, known widely for the annual Starz Denver Film Festival, means many of the staffers who walked out with Erickson will return as of this morning, according to The Denver Post, which was not able to confirm the news after reaching board chairman David Charmatz.
