A co-worker told me about Providence Tavern, a two-month-old pub in Edgewater. She found it while ducking into US Thai Cafe, and it wasn’t long before we both tried it out and vowed to return.

The draws, of which there are many, include a friendly vibe and beers such as Deschutes Brewery and Full Sail Brewing Co. sips on tap. We also appreciate the prices: $4.95 burgers (add fries for $1) and a $6.99 veggie Reuben that’s big enough to share. The latter comes with tender slices of marinated portobello, melted Swiss, sauerkraut, and house-made Thousand Island pressed between grilled sourdough.

Tip: Swap out the fries for the black-and-tan onion rings ($2.99). They arrive striped, thanks to drizzles of dark stout.
